Answering Questions While Flying

Ok! I gotta fly to NYC tonight at midnight (PST) and I’m gonna be bored. So if the plane has wi-fi I’ll answer any questions anyone has about WKUK or this new album or anything!

I even made a fancy new graphic for it! See? It’s at the top of the page! It took me 5 hours.

Just leave me questions here! And then once they let us turn on laptops I’ll start answering them (It’ll probably be around midnight PST).

We’ll see if this works or if it’s stupid! Thanks!

Question 1: Please tell me the you and the rest of the boys are recording commentary for seasons 4 & 5 of the WKUK DVD releases! (not really a question, more like a hopeful demand out of love.)

Question 2: Also, any idea when we can look forward to those being released?

    • Trevor says:

A: We haven’t recorded any commentary for seasons 4 or 5 yet. I’m not sure when or if IFC is going to put them out. (They are available on iTunes, etc.) But when we get the rights to them in a few years, we’ll definitely put them out with commentary!

(Just realized this is a better way to do this than adding my own posts to the bottom.)

  2. Amanda says:

Also a question: Everyone is asking, and I don’t care I’m repeating it…When will be moar touring? Can’t wait!

  3. Serena C says:

Trevor, is there ANY way you could have any meet and greets while in NYC? Or at least any opportunities for fans to possibly meet you??Please??
    SerenaC

    • Trevor says:

A: Well I might do some friends shows while I’m in town. If I do, I’ll definitely post the info here!

  4. Kat G. says:

    Hi Trevor!

I had wanted to ask you this in Madison when I met you. Is there any significance to the name ‘Candace’?

  5. scott says:

If you’re going to be in NYC, are you going to be back at the piano bar?

  6. jeremy schmidt says:

    Trevor,
I really liked that misses march movie, I actually watched it a bunch of times when I bought it on VHS. I have a question though, I gave my brother a Whitest Kids U Know tattoo back when we were 14 using only 1 needle and ink. He bitched throughout the whole thing while I told him to shutup or else mom would hear his screaming and he has been mad. So the question is, do you think I was out of line for telling him to shutup and stop screaming to save myself from getting in trouble while I forced a tattoo he didn’t really want on him. And 2nd question, is it copyright infringement if me and my brother say “it was pretty good” to everything. Thanks!

    Jeremy

    • Trevor says:

No, I think that shows what a good brother you are. You didn’t want him to yell or move – so that you wouldn’t mess up the tattoo you were giving him. Tattoos are forever, it’s a shame he was too stupid to realize that.

And we’re all good with the “it was pretty good” thing.

  7. Marissa says:

I know you guys are working on a WKUK movie; any ideas or hints as to what direction that’s headed in?

And on a non-WKUK related note, other than this album and your work on Jay Leno, what else are you up to? Will we be seeing you in anything else in the near future?

    • Trevor says:

I can’t really say what the movie is about yet because we have two different ones that we keep going back and forth between.

And besides the album and Leno, I’m working on a new show right now that hopefully will end up somewhere.

  8. Margaret says:

Not a question, but I am practically obsessed with your hair!
Okay, here is a question, who cuts it? It always looks amazing. You picked a great style that goes so well with your face. Your girlfriend is very lucky!

    • Aquamarine says:

Trevor, I don’t want to go on and on about how you’re the most amazing comic genius/actor, cause I’m sure that gets old. But I was wondering, random as this is gonna sound, if you could pick like 10 or 15 songs on the soundtrack to your life, which would they be?

      • Trevor says:

Wow. I don’t know … I don’t know if it’d be the soundtrack of my life but I’d probably put a lot of Warren Zevon’s Excitable Boy on there.

    • Trevor says:

Haha! Um, I don’t really have a particular guy who cuts it. I just go to the barbershop and take whoever is available. But thank you.

  9. Serena C says:

Trevor, if you don’t mind my asking, what are five things that stand out to you about a woman? -I know you’re taken I was just wondering if it’s cool to ask

    • Trevor says:

Umm …. geez, these are hard. Being nice … Hating all the same things I hate … doesn’t take pictures of her food at restaurants … those are the main things.

  10. Aliya says:

    Hey Trevor,
My question is actually not so much to do with WKUK, or even you. I just wanted to ask, what’s any advice you have regarding starting up a sketch comedy troupe? I’m totally serious about wanting to do this, but my friends seem to be only half way serious. How does one go about getting this thing rolling? And what’s the best way to promote yourself?

    • Trevor says:

Just find a spot, like a bar or a club where you can put up a regular show and then keep doing it. The more time that you’re on stage and writing, the better you’ll get. And if there’s one place people know they can find you, that’ll help with word of mouth.

  11. Marika says:

Do you think you guys could come to Michigan during your next tour?

Also, today’s my birthday. Can I get a happy birthday please? :D

  12. Victoria says:

    Hi Trevor,

I was just curious about a few things. I’m not a crazy psycho fan or anything. But I noticed that you don’t swear as much as the other Whitest Kids . They say the “f” word every other word but not you. Was just wondering if there was a reason for that. Also curious why the last few episodes you guys did were so drug focused. I mean I know you guys did drug sketches in the past but there at the end it seemed like there was a lot of them. Not a problem or anything it’s just something I noticed.
I think you are a comic genius. There were very few sketches that weren’t hilarious. My five year old, yes I know he shouldn’t watch, loves your show too. He knows all your names and can quote you like crazy. His favorite episode is the one where that is the dude that threw up in his own food. Lol.
Wish you guys would come to Tennessee. It would be a highlight in my life to get to see you guys.
    Thanks for all the laughs,
    Victoria

    • lily says:

Trevor’s mentioned in the past that it’s because he has OCD. :) However, I’d like if Trevor could confirm this just in case I’ve been misinformed.

    • Trevor says:

Hey Victoria! Thanks!! Yeah, that was pretty much an OCD thing. And there’s no reason that there were more drug sketches towards the end – except that, maybe, since we were writing the Civil War on Drugs at the same time as Season 5, our minds were just there.

  13. Jay W. says:

Were their specific comedians who influenced you? I noticed during the seasons of WKUK there were a couple of George Carlin jokes you expanded on.

Also, what music do you most frequently listen to? Do you like Frank Zappa?

    • Trevor says:

Weird Al, David Letterman, Monty Python and Gary Larson were the guys I really liked as a kid.

Music-wise, I listen to a mish mash of stuff. Mostly strip club music though. And Warren Zevon/ Elton John/ Billy Joel type stuff. And a lot of dubstep if I’m trying to annoy someone.

  14. Derek Thomason says:

In hindsight do you think stopping the show was
    a. good career move?
    b.a horrible career move
    c. go fuck myself

    • Trevor says:

I don’t know if it was a good or bad career move. But I think it was the right thing to do. We didn’t want the show to start feeling stale. And we wanted to try and do more long form stories. I think if we did do a 6th season, it would have just been two Civil War-type movies stuck together.

  15. Audrey Dulong Bérubé says:

hey! do you think it could be possible to send other link then hulu for your jay leno sketch and other video that you post? Cause i cant watch it in quebec….

  16. P-funk says:

    Trevor,
Long time reader, first time commenter. Two questions for you.

    1) Will the Whitest Kid’s movie that is in the works consist of you all playing multiple roles like in the Civil War on Drugs or will there be other actors playing roles in the film?

    2) The sketches in the Whitest Kids U Know are so intelligently written and address topics of history, government, English, science, religion, music, and even the structure of education. What role would you say that education has played in your career and how much higher education did you pursue prior to your televised debut?

    Kindly,

    P-funk

    • Trevor says:

      1) We’re not sure yet. Still working that part out.

      2) Thanks! I went to about 5 different schools growing up. I pretty much switched schools every 2 years. Some of them were really strict and conservative, other less so. I spent a short time at a school where it was really obvious the teachers didn’t know much more than the students – so I think that made some sort of impression.

As far as higher education, I wanted to major in Journalism and Politcal Science when I started college – but then I transferred to film because the classes weren’t so early in the morning.

  17. Amanda says:

Dude, I know you’re a Black Keys fan (how do they manage to kick it so hard?!)… So do you know Alabama Shakes?? If you like TBK’s you’ll most likely like them too. They’re amazing. Question/recommendation/not spam because f*ck spam/sharing the musical righteousness

  18. Tyler says:

Hey Trevor, boring question but since you are going to the studio it’s kind of relevant, who are some of your favorite bands right now?

    • Trevor says:

I’ve been listening to a lot of Wu-Tang and Billy Joel lately. They’re not current. But that’s what I’ve been playing the most for the last month. And that “Rack City” song…

  19. CK says:

Trevor I know this is a random ass question but I have to ask, who is the most sensitive out of all you, Zach, Sam, Darren, Timmy, or you? And who is the least?

  20. Super Sandy says:

    Question,
Will you send me a letter like old school White House style telling me to destroy the documents i have received immediately? Think that would be cool for my 27th b-day comin up…Oh did i write that down? Shit, silly me dropping a hint like that…well…

Ok, your stuck in a bathroom for 12 days with all the guys from WKUK…who do you think would get eatin first? (please say Timmy, please say Timmy)

  21. I know this isn’t about the album, but Will you send me a signed autograph or come to Minneapolis, MN to do some skits? WKUK is the shit!! Love You guys!! Oh and P.S. “There’s something on the wing some THING!!” Ahhh! LOL

  22. Jason says:

Hey Trevor, just curious what kind of tv shows do you find funny these days, have you seen key and peele? Those skits suck shit so bad! Also can u give us just one song title off the new cd?

  23. Karen says:

Hey Trevor, first of all have a SAFE flight! Lol
Second, what’s your advice to dealing with those people in your life -who -while you care about them try and tell you stupid stuff like “People can die from marijuana” and try and talk you out of daily routines and stuff. Is it easier to put them in their place to make them realize how retarded they sound? Or pretend to keep agreeing with everything they say until they shut up??

  24. Karen says:

If you ARE sending out autographs will you send me one btw??lol. ?

  25. felicia says:

So now that the Whitest Kids season 5 is over, is this the official end? Any plans for the future (besides live touring), or is everybody basically moving onto individual projects? How long do you plan on touring, and is it new material or from previous episodes? I know thats more than one question =]

  26. Name says:

    Hi Trevor,
How do you honestly feel about Miss March?
Also, the Boston Royal show was really awesome. Thanks for coming out.
Your sketches have really influenced me creativly and drug-wise. Turns out banana peels don’t work very well. Your show is also what got me through high school, so thanks.

  27. Marissa says:

Hey Trevor, what are some of your favorite Disneyland rides?? :D lol

  28. Trevor says:

Hey! I’m here! The plane was a little late. Let me start!

Q:#1 – AMANDA: Please tell me the you and the rest of the boys are recording commentary for seasons 4 & 5 of the WKUK DVD releases! (not really a question, more like a hopeful demand out of love.)

Q#2: – AMANDA: Also, any idea when we can look forward to those being released?

A: We haven’t recorded any commentary for seasons 4 or 5 yet. I’m not sure when or if IFC is going to put them out. (They are available on iTunes, etc.) But when we get the rights to them in a few years, we’ll definitely put them out with commentary!

  29. Ellen says:

First thanks for sharing your talent, so many people including myself are in love with it/you for it Just wondering whose idea it was to create a Hamlet combination with Othello and a vampire army in the Abe Lincoln gets Shot sketch? Genius. Also do you think it’s possible to get a legit despise where you think everyone’s Forrest Whitaker -or any other actor for that matter? Maybe obsession lol -if you had that disease but got to decide which actor you constantly thought you saw who would it be??
    Safe travels:)
Btw I’m sorry for how innapropriate this is about to sound but your wife is REALLY lucky and I hope she knows it -sorry just ignore that statement I just had to say it

  30. Trevor says:

Q#3 – AMANDA: Everyone is asking, and I don’t care I’m repeating it…When will be moar touring? Can’t wait!

A: We’ll go back on tour this fall and try to hit a bunch of places we missed and go back to the same places too.

Q#4 – Serena C: Trevor, is there ANY way you could have any meet and greets while in NYC? Or at least any opportunities for fans to possibly meet you??Please??

A: Well I might do some friends shows while I’m in town. If I do, I’ll definitely post the info here!

  31. Ellen says:

I’m sorry Trevor but I need your advice on this situation, but this girl and I have never really gotten along that well, after she deliberately ignored me one time I called her a bitch on twitter putting her on blast -NOT saying that was the most mature thing but at least I didn’t tag her -(neither of us follow each other) -two of my followers retweeted me so she could see it. She then harasses me with Facebook messages saying I need to grow up and stop caring what people think. She’s 23, I’m 20, how is she more mature then I am by bombarding me with Facebook messages then blocking me so she has the last word? Also doesn’t it sound like SHE’s the one who cares what people think?
I’m sorry to bombard you with my problems but I wouldn’t to know YOUR thoughts on this scenario even if you think I’m a dumbass cuz I value your opinions more than most peoples

  32. Jay W. says:

To reply to what you said about my question about comedic influences, the fact you list Weird Al is awesome. He is, without a doubt, my all time favorite musical artist. It’s hard being a senior in college trying to talk to someone about Al. They don’t understand!

So my question is, would you go to a Weird Al concert with me and my girlfriend? haha. We saw you on tour, and it was one of the best nights we ever had together.

  33. Lalita says:

    Hello, best friend Trevor!
You called me your best friend on Facebook remember? hahaha.

So a few questions here then:
    1. Who was in the Sex Robot costume?
    2. Will your coming out album have the songs from some sketches? Like Old Folks Home and such?
    3. Have you ever heard of the rapper Immortal Technique? Well, he’s great. You should check him out. :D !!

And I just want to take the time out to let you know how much I appreciate you. For making me laugh out loud countless times, making me ponder the most absurd things, and for taking the time out of your life to talk to us little folk. Thank you, Trevor.

I seriously love you, and I can’t tell you how much I miss WKUK. But I know you’ll be coming out with new material and I’m just so excited for that.
I wish you a lifetime of pure happiness only.
    -Your bestest friend, Lalita :)

  34. Radley says:

Just a comment… this was an awesome idea! Defs do it again! Trevor you’re awesome.

  35. E says:

Jodie up there SURELY will get you on the no-fly. I mean c’mon… Oh wait, in the form of a question… Are you suprised at how long it took a fan to get the Foster joke?

  36. Just wanna tell you that’s a sweet ass graphic. I’m currently a graphic design student and I would give that an A+ bro.

  37. I desperately hope that, on occasion, this woman dresses up as Darren and forces her voice into a barratone. In order to make this a question, I’ll ask you if you think you could contact this woman and persuade her to do so? Not for the show or anything, just…anonymous, unacknowledged comedy?

    http://i.imgur.com/Lgm1s.png

From Brooklyn, where we secretly and creepily hope at least one of you lives, your fans:

    – Laura-Joy and Sarah.

  38. Ahem: *baritone. Or barratone. Whatever gets her consent.

  39. Claire Gray says:

Hey Trev I’ve got two questions. First off, did you ever voice a polar bear for a ron paul ad? this is the one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNSUFOkjyX8

Secondly, who’s your favorite president ever and why

Lastly, come to Cleveland!!!!!!! and release season 4 and 5 on dvd pleaseee

  40. Tina Giuliana says:

My question is: could Paul Nichols, the dude who died after having his face taken off, be the same dude who died while erotic asphyxiating himself in an alternate reality or something? Thanks!

  41. E says:

    This is stupid!

  42. Clara says:

    Beer or wine?

  43. Ellen D says:

Hi Trevor, ifyou don’t mind me asking a personal question: do you prefer -if you had to chose -being drunk or high?? And do you think NY will ever legalize marijuana??
    Personally I prefer being stoned

  44. Morgan says:

    Hi Trevor!

I’m a huge fan! I only recently became familiar with WKUK…it all started out with my eleven year old brother showing me some of your sketches on Youtube such as Abe Lincoln, The Grapist, and the one about Xbox Live or something haha. My brother actually decided to try the whole “Mom! Can you make me a sandwich?” thing all the way down to the “Mom you always do this!”.

We’re also always quoting your guys’ Abe Lincoln sketch. One time we were watching a baseball game and when someone tried to steal second he shouted out “Where you goin skinny? Where you goin you fat piece a’ sh*t?” We can also never drink grape sodas without thoughts of being tied to a radiator…

Anyway, I was just wondering how in the world you guys come up with this stuff? You’ve probably been asked that a million times but…I’m thinking of starting my own comedy sketch troupe but I honestly have no idea where to start.

  45. joanita says:

q 1: can a person marry a tv show? or the dvd? i’ll buy the dvd if it’s legal, i promise.

q 2: wkuk was one of my safest and healthiest obsessions. thank you so many many much.
